July 2006
September 1, 2006
One last bit of material, a farewell from Utter Trash
opinion writer Brian Dempsey in which he gives his opinions of the state of
the local music scene.
Got Music?
July 20, 2006
This month marks the four year anniversary of Utter Trash.
It also marks the end of Utter Trash. Due to a variety of reasons,
I've decided to stop doing this webzine. I just don't have the time
anymore to keep this site updated regularly. Hell, it's been 3 months
since my last update, you don't really need me to tell you that. So
rather than let this site continue to deteriorate, I'm stopping.
I want to thank all the people who've contributed pieces to
the site over the past four years, and especially all the people who've
actually cared enough to read what I and the other writers at Utter Trash
had to say. I'll be leaving the site up in this final state for the
indefinite future, so if you have a link to one of our reviews it'll still
be there.
As for me, I'm now focusing mainly on the band I sing for,
Horror of 59. I'll also keep
my hand in writing, doing the occasional freelance piece for other zines and
writing and editing the music and film section of the
Lakewood Observer.
But first, here's one last update.
Interviews:
Celtic
Frost: Celtic Frost has been one of my favorite bands since I
first heard their song "Procreation of the Wicked" on Joe Mack's WCSB radio
show back in the mid eighties. The band went through some strange
phases in their career, and it looked like they were finished altogether
after 1989's 'Vanity/Nemesis' album. But this year they've returned
with a new album, and I had the pleasure of talking to co-founder Martin Ain
about the resurrection of this classic band.
Die
Monster Die: Hailing from Utah, Die Monster Die has been
delivering their brand of theatrical horror rock since 2002. If you're
into horror rock and haven't checked these guys out yet, what are you
waiting for?
